“Abinger Common Nursery has been the perfect setting for my son and I’m so excited to send my daughter there soon too. 

The staff are so kind, truly caring, and provide the best environment possible for children to thrive. A focus on being outdoors was hugely important to me with a high energy toddler post-Covid restrictions lifting and it is something I’ve really appreciated and seen the benefits of for my son. He absolutely loves exploring the beautiful woodland all around the nursery as well as the garden in all weathers. Alongside weekly cooking, sports, French, crafts, games, songs and more he’s truly been immersed in an amazing community at the nursery with so many different opportunities all the time. We absolutely LOVE Hayley and the team!

“The nursery has provided outstanding care and education for both of our children—our eldest, who left almost two years ago, and our youngest, who started in September. Hayley and her team are incredibly warm and personable, creating a nurturing environment for both kids and parents. We’ve always felt fully supported and confident in their care.


The team brings so much fun and creativity to the nursery, and we’ve been especially grateful for how they tailor activities to each child’s interests. When our younger son started, they took the time to understand what he loved and incorporated space-themed activities to help him settle in.  They continue to personalise his experience, making his time there truly special.  He absolutely loves being at nursery, especially with his key worker, Coral, and Hayley, who both help him build wonderful friendships with the other kids.  Most recently, the nursery’s provided amazing support with toilet training. They made it such a positive experience, celebrating milestones and handing out certificates for staying dry. 


The setting itself is also wonderful—the children benefit from forest school, learning about and growing produce in the vegetable patch, as well as from visits to the beautiful village church.


Abinger Nursery has played a key role in such a precious time in our boys’ lives, and we’ll always remember this as truly magical time. In fact, our eldest recently had an inset day at school and jumped at the chance to visit his old nursery, eager to say hello.  He still fondly remembers cooking with Henny and helping to grow vegetables and flowers in the veg patch.


To say we’ve been lucky and extremely fortunate that our kids go/went to Abinger would be an understatement.  Writing this makes me a little sad knowing that our youngest will finish his time at Abinger next year, and our connection with the team will change.  However, we will always champion and support them because they are all so very wonderful and such an essential part of our community.“
