Community Links

Abinger Common is a beautiful village in the Surrey Hills and has a wonderful, passionate community – we love being a part of it. All of our members of staff live in the local area, with many in Abinger itself. Whenever there is an opportunity to work with others in the village we will, as it brings us together, strengthens our community spirit and shows the children how to work with others.

The Evelyn Hall

The Evelyn Hall is where the Nursery is based, built in the 19th century, and refurbished with an excellent amenity block – it provides the Nursery with superb facilities and a wonderful enclosed garden.

The Evelyn Hall is run by Katie Brodie and her Committee. They have and continue to provide amazing support for the Nursery. We are eternally grateful to them and for their hard work and dedication.

The Abinger Hatch

The Abinger Hatch sits next to the hall and is one our great supporters. Brad and Charlotte have raised money for the Nursery through their fireworks night, hosting our raffle hampers and collection tins. The children are now planting vegetables in their raised beds for the pub to use in their kitchen! We look forward to more projects with them…

Medieval Fair

Every June the Nursery takes part in the Medieval Parade dressed as knights and princesses. We also run the Children’s Corner at the Fair.

The fair kindly donate money to the Nursery, which we are so grateful for! With the money we received from the 2019 fair we bought new resources for the children and a gazebo to use in the garden and at events we take part it in.

Waitrose Green Token Scheme

In March 2020 we received £300 from the Waitrose Green Token Scheme. Thank you so much to all that chose us as the charity they wanted to support. With this money we bought Forest School equipment including a Rocket Stove for Henny to use during our Forest School sessions.
